The Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) strongly welcomes the government’s announcement to introduce new legislation to ban ‘sex for rent’ exploitation.

The Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) welcomes the introduction of the Labour Party’s bill to criminalise ‘sex for rent’ exploitation. This is an important step towards protecting renters, including international students, from predatory landlords.

The Activities and Training Officer will form a part of ICOS’ Programme Team and support the Programme Manager and Executive Director to deliver ICOS’ strategic plan, in particular through the administration of the Ireland Fellows Programme.

ICOS launches new report on the housing crisis from the perpective of international students. The report builds on previous research conducted by ICOS on housing in the context of international students. It examines the effects of the housing crisis on students, and explores the challenges that they face in the rental market. 

The Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) has today launched its General Election Manifesto 2024 outlining the actions that must be taken by the next Government to improve the rights, welfare, and experience of international students studying in Ireland.

A new campaign to create an annual National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, 30^th April launches today. The aim of the initiative is to establish a national day in Ireland to promote voter registration among people who are eligible to vote.
